The Wildraubtier (ビルトラプター) is a Banpresto Original Mecha first mentioned in Super Robot Wars Alpha's Robot Encyclopedia, before properly debuting in Super Robot Wars Original Generation. Its data was later used for the development of the R-1. In OG, there exists the Wildraubtier Type-L (ビルトラプター・タイプL) and the Wildraubtier Type-R (ビルトラプター・タイプR). The Type-L was later upgraded into the Wildraubtier Schnabel. It has been piloted by Kyousuke Nanbu, Ryuusei Date and Latune Subbota.
Technological and Historical[]
The Wildraubtier is a transformable Personal Trooper, capable of changing into the agile Flyer Mode. The powerful vernier thruster units mounted on the PT's back enables it atmospheric flight, along with advanced jumping power and hovering capabilities. It is also equipped with high-performance sensors at the forearms and at the crotch armor.
Alpha Series[]
Following the PTX-005 Wildschwein's rollout in September NAD 183, development started on the Wildraubtier, however an accident occurred during a transformation test and the mecha was wrecked, halting further progress.
OG Series[]
The first transformable Personal Trooper ever made, the Wildraubtier was developed by Mao Industries to make up for the low air combat capabilities of existing PTs, such as the Gespenst Series and the Schutzwald.
SRW OG1/SRW OGs1[]
2 units were planned to be built, the Type-R and the Type-L, however insufficient budget and time shortage prevented the Type-R's assembly, while the rushed Type-L was sent to Izu Base with a faulty transformation system. After the Type-L arrived at Izu Base, Divine Crusaders spy Hans Viper ordered Kyousuke Nanbu to pilot the defective machine for a test run, despite Kyousuke's doubts on its condition, in an attempt to get rid of Kyousuke and to hamper the TFF's PT development progress. After dispatching several decoy enemy units loaded with live ammunition (which Hans lied that they were only paint rounds) in Flyer Mode, Kyousuke was instructed to perform a mid-air transformation, which resulted in the Type-L falling apart and crashing into the ocean. Fortunately, Kyousuke was unharmed. The Type-L's remains were later retrieved by Mao Industries and repaired using parts from the Type-R. This resulted in the deregistration of the Type-R, and the remaining unit is now known as PTX-006(L) Wildraubtier. Notably, the mecha's head was also installed with the prototype version of the R-1's high-performance sensor. After the renovation, the Wildraubtier was sent back to Izu Base, serving as Ryuusei Date's unit during the height of the DC War, replacing his destroyed Mass-Production Gespenst Mk-II Type-TT. Subsequently, Latune Subbota inherited the Wildraubtier after Ryuusei switched to the R-1 near the final stages of the DC War, and it would become her personal machine throughout the last battles of the DC War, as well as in the L5 Campaign.
SRW OG2/SRW OGs2[]
Latune continues to use the Wildraubtier after the L5 Campaign, participating in the recapture operation of the Tesla Reich Institute from DC remnant forces (OGs2 only). Following the theft of the Wildfalken by DC forces during its test run, the Special Tactics Guidance Corps were transferred from Hickam Base to the Shirogane, but was soon stationed back to the Hagane after said ship took over the task of pursuing DC forces. Latune would resume piloting the Wildraubtier until she and Princess Shine Hausen received the Fairlion Type-S and Fairlion Type-G respectively, during the battle to retake the Duchy of Riksent.
SRW OGs2.5/SRW OGG[]
With the 4-way conflict of OG2 coming to a close and Princess Shine returning to her country, Latune once again boarded the Wildraubtier. She would use it during the New Special Tactics Guidance Corps' mock battle with the Astelion AX and Grungust Type-3 Unit 3, before taking on several Mironga units as a team during the TFF's trial to decide their next mainline unit. Following Latune's rescue from Hellgate along with her friends, the Wildraubtier would see more action fighting against the Valsion Kai Type-CF, the Shura, and Duminas' group, before Latune switched to the Fairlion Type-S when the Steel Dragon Squadron arrived at the Tesla Reich Institute.
OG Gaiden marks the Wildraubtier's last appearance. Some time before OGG and 2nd OG, the Wildraubtier was upgraded into the Wildraubtier Schnabel.
