The Steel Dragon Squadron (鋼龍戦隊 Kouryuu Sentai), also known as the Terra Federation Army Far East Army 1st Independent Special Forces Steel Dragon Squadron (地球連邦軍極東方面軍第1独立特殊部隊鋼龍戦隊 Chikyuu Renpougun Kyoku-Touhoumen-Gun Dai-Ichi Dokuritsu Tokushu Butai Kouryuu Sentai)) is the main Player Team in the Original Generation Saga, officially established in The 2nd Super Robot Wars Original Generation.
Overview[]
The team is named after the Hagane (ハガネ / 鋼 / Steel) and Hiryuu Kai (ヒリュウ改 / 飛龍改 / Flying Dragon Custom) battleships, the two primary flagships of the squadron. It is comprised from many of the most skilled pilots and powerful mobile weapons on the planet. Together with their occasional external collaborators, the Steel Dragon Squadron is the strongest armed division present in the Solar System. They have been involved in (and won) pretty much every major conflict involving Earth and nearby planets/dimensions over the past few years, and some of their numbers have been around long before even that. After the Sealing War, Joint Command HQ took control over the Steel Dragon Squadron from the Far East Forces and appointed new commanders.

Belonging to the TFA Intelligence Department, he is a dependable ally of the Squadron, often fighting alongside them as well as supplying crucial information and data. Has an aide within Federation intelligence Saika Shinagawa, she debuted in Moon Dwellers.
- Kurogane Crew
A de facto separate corps led by Ratsel Feinschmeker. The flagship is Kurogane, and most of the members are former DC/former joint forces members, after the L5 Campaign the Kurogane crew operate and support the Earth Federation Army in secret. Over time they gain more crew members from past fought groups like Yuuki Jaggar & Rilcarla "Carla" Borgnine former members of Neo DC, Touma Kanou former delivery boy, Miniaki Tomine former scientist defected from the Gaia Sabers, Axel Almer from Shadow Mirror, Einst Alchimie from the Einsts and so forth.
- Antilas Corps
A special armed division which can be considered as the counterpart of the Steel Dragon Squadron in the underground world of La Gias. During the Sealing War, the Masouki pilots that assisted the Steel Dragons during the Stedonias Alliance Civil War, Masaki and the other Lords with Lune, Precia, and Zash came to assist their allies on the surface. After the Sealing War, only Masaki and Lune join with the rest of the newly formed Antilas Corps.
- Shu Shirakawa & Co.
His group collaborated with the Squadron during the events of the Sealed War from Dark Prison side story and has helped out near the final half of the conflict. Amara joins his group sometime during the events of Coffin of the End.
Industrial company specializing in developing mobile weapons, and only does business with the Terra Federation. Primary developer of the Squadron's Personal Troopers. In addition to the cooperation of the developers for the maintenance of the aircraft, some members such as Chief Executive Officer and former pilot Ling Mao also participate in the battle and cooperate with the whole company.
- Tesla Reich Institute
A laboratory headed by Dr. Jonathan Kazahara. In addition to developing many Special Units used by the Squadron, it also provides support in various fields such as maintenance and repair of the aircraft. In addition, technical advisor Rishuu Tougou is participating in the battle by driving his own mobile weapons.
During the conflict Shura member Folka Albark defects after a change of heart and joins up with the Steel Dragons, near the final battle in the Swordian members Fernando Albark & Alion Lucada joins up after having a common enemy to fight against. After the war the Shuras now led by Folka leave this universe in the Swordian to find a new one for the remaining Shura to live.
- L&E Corporation
A venture company whose main business is rescue operations. The company is made up of the collective characters of Super Robot Wars R, after the Shura Rebellion and the name came from the first letters of the final units of the Excellence Series, Lightning & Eternal. It operates an excellence rescue and cooperates with the squadron as a whole company. Their primary HQ is essentially based inside the Excellence Rescue.

A small country located on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. It is a principality with Shine Hausen, a girl of just 12 years old, as the current head of state, and is a neutral country with special independent autonomy. It is an economically rich country with abundant gold mines, a mild climate and livable. Therefore, it is also famous as a tourist destination, and Rio Meiron is said in the play that he has visited it as a summer resort. After having her home being invaded multiple times from past wars Shine decided to fight in order for it to be free of conflict and to also prevent other places around the world from meeting the same oppression.
- Azuma Institute
A Labatory run by Professor Kisaburo Azuma. A former member of the "Extra-Over Technology Institute" (EOTI), Professor Kisaburo is the grandfather to Kouta Azuma and Shouko Azuma. Kisaburo encounters the entity known as "Warrior Roar", recovering his damaged Compatible Kaiser from the outskirts of "Heavy Mogami Industries" and partially restores it in an underground bunker beneath his home at Tokyo in the Asakusa district, using knowledge obtained from the "Dynamic General Guardian" series since his time at the EOTI. He has entrusted both the Raor Armor and Compatible Kaiser to his Grandson in order to fight against the possibility of Roars nemesis returns to attack the planet.

Mekibos Borquede, a special envoy of the Privy Council from Wolga, participated in the Seal War. After the Seal War, his subordinate Gayatova Schecka/Yong Gebana took the place of Mekibos, who was under house arrest.

A group of scientists whose main research interests are archaeological sites and whose purpose is to excavate and reuse lost technology. It is commonly known as "Re-Tech".
