Godzilla vs. Evangelion (ゴジラ対エヴァンゲリオン Gojira tai Evangerion) is a fake film announced by Toho on the 2014 April Fool's Day to promote Shin Godzilla (also known as Godzilla: Resurgence) and Evangelion: 3.0+1.0, also being a nod to Hideaki Anno working on both films. Toho later revealed that the announcement was a prank, but also announced an official collaboration between themselves and Gainax involving Evangelion Unit-01 being featured on exclusive tickets for Shin Godzilla, which had its official trailer released on April 13.
Despite being a fake film, the "series" was featured in Super Robot Wars X-Ω in an event from August 2016, celebrating the release of Shin Godzilla. During the event, Godzilla and two versions of Mechagodzilla (Kiryu) appeared as playable units that could be obtained. This marked the first appearance of a kaiju in the Super Robot Wars series.

- Godzilla (ゴジラ) - A monster whose existence was confirmed several decades ago. It often appears to attack human-made energy facilities, such as power stations. This beast's skin is hard enough to endure any attack, and it attacks with its massive tail and by releasing a radiant heat ray from its mouth.
- "Kiryu Type-3" (3式機龍) - One of the two special weapons produced by the Japanese government using the latest technology and one Godzilla's bones as base to fight against Godzilla. This model is heavily armed and has high fire power, its armament including a rocket launcher and an Absolute Zero cannon. It is also equipped with a flight booster in its back.
- Akane Yashiro (家城茜 Yashiro Akane) - A member of the Kiryu team and the pilot of Kiryu Type-3. She is an excellent operator, but as the only member without relatives, she can be a bit awkward due to not being good at reading the feelings of others.
- "Kiryu Type-3 Type-B" (3式機龍乙型) - Evangelion themed version of Kiryu Type-3 piloted by Shinji Ikari. Like Kiryu Type-3, this weapon was developed by the Japanese government using advanced technology and Godzilla's bones. This model focuses on high mobility, using its agility to approach enemies in fights. It is equipped with a Maser Blade and a short ranged Absolute Zero cannon, but lacks a flight unit in the back to improve agility.
