Powered |
The R-Gun Powered, also known as the Real Personal Trooper Type-Gun Powered, or alternatively Argun Powered (アールガンパワード) is a Banpresto Original Mecha debuting in Super Hero Operations, before making its SRW appearance in Super Robot Wars Alpha. It is an upgraded version of the R-Gun. It is capable of being used by the SRX as the Hyper Tronium Buster Cannon.
Technological & Historical[]
The R-Gun Powered is basically the R-Gun equipped with the new Hi-Twin Launchers on its back (along with the T-Link System in the case of OG), allowing it to be fired by SRX (and by extension, Banpreios) as the H.T.B Cannon in the mecha's Metal Genocider Mode. However, in order to be used by Banpreios, an external module known as the Ex-Gunner (エクスガンナー) is required to connect the Metal Genocider with Banpreios and synchronize their systems.
Super Hero Operations[]
Leading mecha for the game's second half. During the Twin-Headed Kaijuu Pandon's attack on the Far East Branch Headquarters, the R-Gun deployed to intercept the Kaijuu, before docking with the Plus Parts deployed from the base as per Aya Kobayashi's orders, forming the R-Gun Powered. This was additionally to supplement the SRX (which also debuted in the battle and still had all of its weapons locked), allowing for the Tenjou Tenga Ichigeki Hissatsu Hou attack to be used, defeating Pandon.
The R-Gun Powered then fought alongside the Gaia Savers as Ingram/Viletta Plissken's personal unit until their final confrontation with Euzeth Gozzo, now known as Choujin Zest. After Euzeth's defeat, the mecha is thought to have disappeared along with SHO's universe (which was created as a mixture of a multitude of other universes, and would collapse following the death of Euzeth).
Alpha Series[]
SRW Alpha[]
In Real Route, the R-Gun Powered first appeared alongside R-1 and R-2 in Stage 9 to assist Londo Bell, as well as the Cybuster (having just emerged on the surface world from La Gias) to fight off General Garuda's Galmus squadron. Later, Ingram and R-Gun Powered appeared to help Londo Bell against Titans troops and Angels in Real Route Stage 19, and then once more in Stage 20, this time properly joining Londo Bell following the battle. In Super Route, the R-Gun Powered first appeared alongside R-1 and R-2 in Stage 5, when during a secret test run, the trio encountered the Super Robot Team engaging in combat with several Youma Empire mobile weapons. Despite Ingram Plissken's orders to maintain the secrecy of their mission, Ryuusei rushed in with the R-1 to provide support, prompting Rai and Ingram to enter combat as well. Ingram and R-Gun Powered later reappeared in Stage 9 to assist Londo Bell, as well as the Cybuster to fight off General Garuda's Galmus squadron. After that, Ingram and R-Gun Powered appeared to help Londo Bell against Youma Empire mobile weapons and an Angel in Real Route Stage 20, this time properly joining Londo Bell following the battle.
In both routes, R-Gun Powered will eventually be damaged by the R-1 during Ingram's betrayal later on and would be brought to Mao Industries' Moon facility to be repaired. Depending on the special conditions, Levi Tolar or Viletta Vadim would pilot the repaired machine from Stage 61 onwards, which is now capable of being used by SRX.
SRW Alpha Gaiden[]
After the Balmar War, while the R-Series was disassembled by the Titans, Viletta managed to trick them into thinking the R-Gun Powered was wrecked in the war, and thus she stored away in the Microwave Transmission Facility on the Moon. However it was dragged into battle once more when the Mariemaia Army attacked the Moon Cradle, resulting in Viletta lending support to the Preventers to fight them off. Viletta and R-Gun Powered later rendevouzed with the rest of the Preventers in anticipation of the final showdown with the Titans at Macross City, Dakar. With the explosion of Neo Granzon in Macross City, the T-Link System of the R-Gun and the damaged Astranagant (which had been blown away to the Future World) synchronized with each other, causing the dimensional warp that teleported the Preventers to the Future World, and with them the R-Gun Powered. After arriving at the Future World, Viletta and her R-Gun Powered accompanied Ryuusei Date's Mass-Production Grungust Type-2/Mass-Production Huckebein Mk-II/Mass-Production Gespenst Mk-II across the continent in search of their friends, until they finally managed to regroup with the Masou Kishin pilots in Stage 32. Following its return from the Future World, the R-Gun Powered was finally dismantled.
The 2nd SRW Alpha[]
While Viletta made an apperance in Alpha 2, the R-Gun Powered did not.
The 3rd SRW Alpha[]
Viletta's R-Gun Powered was rebuilt in Alpha 3 along with the R-Series in anticipation of the Ze Balmary Empire's frontal attack. At the start of Selena Recital's route in Alpha 3, the R-Gun Powered engaged in combat with Selena's AS Soleares due to Selena confusing Viletta with Spectra McCready, the Golar Golem pilot who wiped out her old squadron, Team Jerva. The R-Gun Powered later reappeared in Stage 28 to provide support to the Alpha Numbers from the onslaught of the Golar Golem Squadron following the defeat of Zonuda Robo, saving the protagonist in the nick of time. Viletta and R-Gun Powered properly joins the Alpha Numbers after the stage.
OG Series[]
SRW OG2/SRW OGs2[]
After the L5 Campaign, the R-Gun was upgraded into the R-Gun Powered and fitted with a T-Link System. It was first fielded during the Einst's attack on Izu Base, piloted by Mai Kobayashi, where it helped to drive away the Einst Regisseur with the HTB Cannon combination maneuver with SRX. It was then incorporated as part of the Steel Dragon Squadron's combat force.
SRW OGG[]
As of the Bartoll Incident, Mai had already temporarily switched to a Mass-Production Huckebein Mk-II before becoming the pilot for the new ART-1, making Viletta once again the pilot of the R-Gun, now in its Powered form. It was stationed on the Hagane, remaining as Viletta's personal machine throughout the Bartoll Incident and the Shura Turbulence.
2nd SRW OG[]
Rai, Aya, Viletta and Mai were teleported to to La Gias as part of the Surface Dweller Summoning Incident along with their machines. Mai and her R-1 were captured by the Stedonias army, forcing the rest of the SRX Team to fight for Stedonias. After Mai managed to escape with help from Tyutti Noorbuck's Familars Freki and Geri, the SRX Team regrouped with the Hagane and fought with them throughout the rest of the underground conflict.
SRW OGIN[]
In The Inspector timeline, the R-Gun Powered had also been shown capable of docking with the AM Gunner, forming the R-Gun Gunner (R-GUNガンナー).
Super Robot Wars X-Ω[]
Appears in events "Soul of Steel" and "For the Justice of Each".
Armaments & Attacks[]
Armaments[]
- Vulcan Cannon (バルカン砲 | Vulcan-Hou)
Two rapidly firing Vulcan guns mounted on the R-Gun's head. They're not very effective on Personal Troopers and similar sized enemies, but they're good for destroying small fighters and ground targets.
- Beam Katar Sword (ビームカタールソード)
A pair of beam-emitting katars are equipped on the R-Gun Powered, protruding from the mecha's back. They can be combined to form the Slash Boomerang. They are not handheld but controlled by telekinesis to remotely slash enemies.
- Slash Boomerang / T-Link Boomerang (スラッシュ・ブーメラン / T-LINKブーメラン)
- By combining the handles of the Beam Katar Swords, the Slash Boomerang is formed. It is then thrown at the enemy using telekinesis. Known as the T-Link Boomerang in Alpha.
- Twin Magna Rifle (ツイン・マグナライフル)
A double-barreled rifle that can fire both physical and beam blasts. It is a customized and downsized version of the R-2's Magna Beam Rifle. Ingram and Viletta often exclaim "Double Fire!" when using this weapon. Swappable Weapon in OGs. In Super Hero Operations, the weapon was instead named "Magna Twin Rifle" (マグナツインライフル).
- Machine Gun
Official name unknown. A handheld machine gun that acts as the R-Gun and R-Gun Powered's Normal Attack in Super Hero Operations.
- Hyper Tronium Buster Cannon (ハイパー・トロニウム・バスターキャノン)
By transforming into its Metal Genocider Mode, the R-Gun Powered is capable of firing the HTB Cannon by concentrating its Tronium Engine output into a single blast, now more powerful than the original version due to the added Hi-Twin Launchers, although it still wouldn't be as strong as when it is used by SRX/Banpreios. Only added as an separate attack in SHO and SRW Alpha.
Combination Attacks[]
- Tenjou Tenga Ichigeki Hissatsu Hou (天上天下一撃必殺砲 | One-Shot Certain Kill Cannon of Heaven and Earth)
Combination attack with SRX. The R-Gun Powered transforms into its Metal Genocider Mode and is used as a giant gun by SRX, as the gigantic Super Robot blasts the unfortunate enemy to smithereens. Ryuusei will additionally shout "Ichigeki Hissatsu! Buster Cannon!" (一撃必殺バスターキャノン One-Shot Certain Kill Buster Cannon). With Original Generations, the Metal Genocider now resembles a cannon, and fitted onto the SRX's hand instead, where power from the SRX's Tronium Engine is combined with the R-Gun Powered's own Tronium Engine (hence Ryuusei stating, "Energy Charge, 120%!") to perform a devastating attack.
- Tenjou Tenga Ichigeki Hissatsu Hou Kai (天上天下一撃必殺砲・改 | One-Shot Certain Kill Cannon of Heaven and Earth Custom)
Combination attack with Banpreios. R-Gun Powered transforms into its Metal Genocider mode as Aya and Mai initiate a T-Link Twin Contact, surrounding the two robots in a Nendou Field. As the Ex-Gunner launches and docks with the Metal Genocider, Rai cranks the Tronium Engine up to Over-Drive, with Banpreios taking hold of the cannon. After a final error correction by Mai, the firing handle emerges in front of Ryuusei (with the Banpresto logo appearing on the scoping monitor for a split second), which he takes hold of and pulls the trigger, unleashing a powerful green beam that obliterates anything unlucky enough to get caught in its firing path.
