The R-3 Powered, also known as the Real Personal Trooper Type-3 Powered, is a Banpresto Original Mecha from the SRW-exclusive series Chouki Taisen SRX, debuting in Neo Super Robot Wars. Part of the R-Series, it is an upgraded version of the R-3 and can combine with R-1 and R-2 Powered to form SRX. Its main pilot is Aya Kobayashi.
Technological and Historical[]
Part of the SRX Project, the R-3 was the third of the R-Series to be developed, a commander unit specializing in information gathering and long-distance assaults with telekinetic weapons. It is nimble and agile, in exchange for having the weakest armor among the R-Series. It is also installed with a highly advanced T-Link System, leagues above the one used by R-1, hence an extremely potent Psycodriver is required to control the machine. Extended interaction with the system would leave a huge burden on the pilot, which is why a circuit breaker is incorporated to shut down the system once the limit has been reached. Since the R-3's T-Link System will be inherited by the SRX as a pivotal system, damage to it prior to combination would lead to devastating consequences for SRX. Initially, the R-3 was meant to be utilized in combination assaults with the R-1, however due to the above specifications it ended up being stationed at the rear lines. Instead of a standard seating cockpit, the R-3's cockpit is designed as a narrow, standing-type capsule cockpit.
The new Plus Parts serve as a large flying carrier for the R-3, allowing it to be utilized as a long-range sniping and bombardment commander unit, while also providing extra protection to the R-3's thin armor. The new carrier is installed with a T-Link Flight System along with multiple Tesla Drives, allowing SRX to fly after Variable Formation. The R-3 Powered forms the lower body of the SRX.
Super Hero Operations[]
Following the previous great war against the Aerogaters, the SRX was sealed away beneath the Gaia Savers Far East HQ, which included the R-3 Powered. It was called to action once more a year later to fend off Pandon's attack on the HQ.
Neo SRW[]
First appearance. After Space Route Stage 22, R-3 will be upgraded into R-3 Powered, through the Plus Parts carried by the White Ark from Earth. Combination into SRX is later possible at the start of Stage 30. If Earth Route was chosen, R-3 Powered, loaded with the final piece of Tronium available, will join the player team at the start of Stage 31, allowing for combination into SRX during the stage.
Alpha Series[]
The R-3's feminine design is said to take reference from the DC-developed Super Machinery Humanoid Valsione.
SRW Alpha[]
The R-3 will be upgraded with the Plus Parts and become R-3 Powered at the start of Stage 50, allowing for combination into SRX during the stage.
SRW Alpha Gaiden[]
The R-3 Powered was planned to be disassembled during the time period of Alpha Gaiden, however it still managed to participate in the final battle against the Aurgelmir and Neo Granzon at the Microwave Relay Station.
SRW Alpha 2[]
The SRX Team (aside from Viletta) as well as the R-Series mecha did not make an appearance in Alpha 2.
SRW Alpha 3[]
The original R-Series robots were eventually rebuilt in Alpha 3 and deployed in combat as SRX as the full might of the Ze Balmary Empire began to invade Earth, however in its first battle against the new invasion wave, the SRX was devastatingly defeated at the hands of the Hazal Gozzo's Vayikran, which also meant the destruction of the R-3 Powered, though all 3 pilots survived. The R-3 Powered's cockpit block, carrying Aya, was captured by Balmarian forces.
OG Saga[]
The R-3 was developed by Mao Industries as a nimble commander unit, specializing in information gathering and long-distance assaults with telekinetic weapons.
SRW OG/SRW OGs1[]
Just before the Aerogators' first invasion wave on Earth (Stage 30), the R-3 will be upgraded with the Plus Parts and become R-3 Powered. With Kyousuke Route, combination into SRX is only possible for Stage 32, due to the component machines' insufficient joint structure. With Ryuusei Route, combination into SRX is temporarily possible for Stage 34 before being permanently available after Stage 36, thanks to the special joints developed for the Alteisen by Dr. Marion Radom brought to Izu Base, negating the joint structure issue.
2nd SRW OG[]
Aya, Rai, Viletta and Mai were teleported to to La Gias as part of the Surface Dweller Summoning Incident along with their machines. Mai and her R-1 were captured by the Stedonias army, forcing the rest of the SRX Team to fight for Stedonias. After Mai managed to escape with help from Tyutti Noorbuck's Familars Freki and Geri, the SRX Team regrouped with the Hagane and fought with them throughout the rest of the underground conflict.

- Head Vulcan Cannon (頭部バルカン砲 | Toubu Vulcan-Hou)
Two rapidly firing machine guns mounted on the R-3 Powered's head. They're not very effective on Personal Troopers and similar sized enemies, but they're good for destroying small fighters and ground targets.
- Beam Sword (ビームソード)
A pair of them are stored within the R-3 Powered's shoulders in case it needs to engage in melee combat.
- Telekinesis Missile (テレキネシス・ミサイル)
Deployable missile containers known as "Mother Missiles" are stored within the four white sections on the new support carrier, each container carrying numerous smaller "Child Missiles". These Child Missiles are fired and guided by telekinesis after the Mother Missiles are shot out from the carrier. Due to being telekinesis-guided, the missiles are highly accurate, eliminating the risk of friendly fire. MAP attack.
- Telekinetic Converging-Type Laser Cannon (念動収束式レーザーキャノン | Nendou Shuusokushiki Laser Cannon)
The R-3's main weapon, a large laser cannon for long range sniping. The Cannon's beam converges through usage of telekinesis.
- Strike Shield (ストライク・シールド)
Six large "shield" like weapons stored on the R-3 Powered's back that can be deployed to collide with the opponent at high speeds with pinpoint accuracy through usage of the T-Link System. They are made from Zol Orichalconium.

The R-3 deploys the Strike Shields to attack multiple surrounding enemies. Only seen in SRW Alpha as a MAP attack.pha.
