Original (オリジナル) is a term used for characters and machines that were made specifically for the media they first appeared. Originally, as Super Robot Wars and Compati Hero Series are crossovers featuring content from multiple companies, Banpresto used the term Banpresto Original for content created by the company itself. After Banpresto became a subsidiary of Bandai Namco in 2007, new content is now simply referred as "Original".
If original content reappears outside their original appearance, they may be listed by their media of origin. The origin may vary depending on the version presented. For example, while Cybuster first appeared in Super Robot Wars II, in Super Robot Wars X it was listed as part of Masou Kishin THE LORD OF ELEMENTAL as the version presented is based on the one from the Masō Kishin Series, and in Super Robot Wars X-Ω it was listed as part of Super Robot Wars Original Generation as the version presented is based on the one from the Original Generation timeline.
