Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket (機動戦士ガンダム0080 ポケットの中の戦争,Kidō Senshi Gandamu Daburu Ō Eiti Poketto no Naka no Sensō) is a six-episode OVA series that aired between March 25th to August 25th, 1989, and is Gundam's first OVA. It was directed by Fumihiko Takayama, written by Hiroyuki Yamaga with character designs by Haruhiko Mikimoto.
This side story takes place around the end of the one-year war of Mobile Suit Gundam, following a 11-year-old boy named Alfred Izuruha who learns about the horrors of war after joining a Zeon squadron, the Cyclops Team following an encounter with a Zeon rookie named Bernard "Bernie" Wiseman, who forms a friendship with Alfred. The Cyclops Team plan to destroy a prototype Gundam being developed by the Federation in the neutral colony Side 6.
