Mobile Fighter G Gundam (機動武闘伝Gガンダム Kidō Butōden Jī Gandamu), or Mobile Fighting Legend G Gundam, is the fifth television series in the Gundam franchise, commemorating its 15th anniversary. Mobile Fighter G Gundam is the first Gundam series to take place outside the "Universal Century" timeline. Unlike the earlier titles, G Gundam forgoes the somber, political undertones of the previous series to something more light-hearted and action oriented, with the focus on a fighting tournament. The series aired on ANN (TV Asahi) between April 22, 1994 to March 31, 1995.
