The Mass-Production Gespenst Mk-II (量産型ゲシュペンストMk-II Ryousangata Gespenst Mk-II) is a Banpresto Original Mecha, debuting in Super Robot Wars Alpha Gaiden. Part of the Gespenst Series, it was developed from the Gespenst Mk-II. In OG, data from it will be used to develop the Mass-Production Gespenst Mk-II Kai. A variant of it for telekinetic pilots also exists, known as the Mass-Production Gespenst Mk-II Type-TT.
Technological & Historical[]
The Mass-Production Gespenst Mk-II was developed as a successor to the Gespenst Mk-II as a unit for mainline deployment, with high customizability to fit various pilots. In Alpha Gaiden, it looks no different from the Classic Series' Gespenst Mk-II Type-R and Type-S. From OG onwards, it can be differentiated from its predecessor with the white shoulder thrusters and the Plasma Stakes on the left forearm (they look slightly different from the old model's Plasma Cutters). In OG, one official variation of the MP Mk-II exists, known as the Mass-Production Gespenst Mk-II Type-TT, which is equipped with an onboard T-Link System and T-Link Rippers for use by pilots with telekinetic capabilities.
Another Century's Episode[]
The Mass-Production Gespenst Mk-II appeared as a guest unit in Another Century's Episode, playable from the beginning. It is only armed with Split Missiles, Plasma Stakes and a M950 Machine Gun.
Alpha Series[]
Only 36 Mass-Production Gespenst Mk-II units were built based on the 3 prototype Gespenst Mk-II units, however most of them were destroyed in combat with the Aerogators. It is also hinted in the Robot Encyclopedia that 2 MP Mk-IIs were modified into the "Alteisen" and "Weissritter" respectively as custom units.
SRW Alpha Gaiden[]
2 of them were briefly used by pilots Ryuusei Date, Raidiese F. Branstein during Stage 5, where they had to unwillingly engage the Skull Squadron in combat under orders from Irmgard Kazahara (due to many Londo Bell members being held hostage by the Titans). Irmgard himself later had to sortie in a MP Gespenst Mk-II under orders from Bask Om to eliminate the Skull Squadron, that is until Irm revealed that their captured friends had all been located and rescued, allowing for a counterattack.
SRW Advance[]
In Advance, the MP Gespenst Mk-IIs were mass-produced by Shadow-Mirror and sent to attack the Advance world as part of Shadow-Mirror's main combat force.
SRW MX[]
In MX, 3 MP Gespenst Mk-IIs appeared during a flashback scene, piloted by Cry Wolves members Hugo, Alberto and Foglia, as the trio is sent to intercept the Devil Gundam. Foglia's unit was taken over by the Devil Gundam's DG Cells and Foglia was transformed into a Zombie Solider, who then proceeded to open fire on Hugo, injuring him. It is speculated that Alberto had to shoot Foglia's unit down after that. No explanation was given as to where did the MP Gespenst Mk-IIs came from or how were they developed.
OG Series[]
The MP Gespenst Mk-II was the first Personal Trooper to be adopted as a mass-production unit by the Earth Federation. It retains the prototype Mk-IIs' sturdy G2 Frame while also incorporating improved sensors and an easy-to-use close combat weapon, the Plasma Stakes.
A side note is that the MP Gespenst Mk-IIs stationed at the Far East Branch has water terrain adaptation equipment installed for better maneuverability in the vast oceanic environment surrounding the area.
SRW OG1/SRW OGs1[]
Due to the EOT Council's lack of determination to fight the aliens, production of the Mk-IIs were stagnated, leading to only a few MP Mk-IIs being active during the D.C War. With Ryuusei Route, a few MP Mk-IIs were seen during the Antarctic peace meetings between the EOTI Council and Guests, however they were all destroyed by the Granzon. the Kai Kitamura's Mk-II unit first made an appearance during the DC's attack on Sasebo Base, staying behind to defend the base as Kai tells a fellow Mk-II pilot to retreat and regroup. Unfortunately, Kai himself also had to retreat soon after to escape the destruction of Sasebo Base due to a MAPW missile launched by the DC. Kai's unit later participated in defending the Kanmon Straits from invading D.C Killer Whale submarines, this time accompanied by a new MP Gespenst Mk-II unit piloted by Irmgard Kazahara, along with the Izu Base squadron. A while after, 2 extra MP Mk-II units were shipped to Izu Base along with the Grungust by Prof. Jonathan Kazahara. They were assigned to pilots Giado Venerdi and Garnet Sunday.
With Kyousuke Route, 2 Mk-II units were first seen in Langley Base in North America, assigned to ATX Team pilots Kyousuke Nanbu and Excellen Browning, who used the units for a couple of missions before they receive their custom-made units, the Alteisen and Weissritter. The 2 Mk-IIs were then passed on to Octopus Platoon members Katina Tarask and Russel Bergman, with Katina piloting Kyousuke's old unit and having it painted red. These 2 MP Mk-II units would stick with their pilots for a considerably long period, through the DC War, L5 Campaign, Inspector War, and so on, up until the Sealing War, where Katina and Russel would be given the state-of-the-art Mass-Production Gespenst Mk-II Kais.
By the L5 Campaign, as most of the EOT Council had been killed in combat by D.C or Aerogator forces, Mao Industries began to manufacture as many MP Gespenst Mk-IIs as possible for the upcoming war with the aliens. Even so, the Mk-II's numbers were simply not enough meet the war demands, forcing the Federation to rely on the DC's numerous remaining Armored Modules which survived the DC War.
SRW OG2/SRW OGs2[]
Following the L5 Campaign, as the new Mass-Production Huckebein Mk-II has became the new mainstay machine of the Federation, the MP Gespenst Mk-II did not see mass-deployment and became an outdated model. Katina, Russel and Kai's units were the only MP Gespensts seen active durring the war. However, due to the "Halloween Plan" proposed by Kai Kitamura and Gilliam Jaeger to give the old Gespenst Series the ability to compete with newer models, the Mass-Production Gespenst Mk-II Kai will soon be developed. A side note is that the first product of the Halloween Plan, the Gespenst Type-RV, will enter first deployment during OGs2.
A large number of MP Gespenst Mk-IIs, around 3000 units, have also been produced by Shadow-Mirror in their world and were used as part of their main combat force when invading the OG world, similar to SRW Advance. These MP Mk-II's have overall higher performance compared to those fielded by the TFA, and each unit is equipped with a Tesla Drive for flight as standard equipment.
SRW OGG[]
Kai, Katina and Russel still continued to pilot their MP Mk-II units even by the time of the Shura Turbulence. However, Kai would soon receive the successor of the Gespenst lineage, the Mass-Production Gespenst Mk-II Kai Unit 1, which will become his mainstay unit from OGG onwards. Katina and Russel would also receive their own Mk-II Kais after the game. Aside from that, a trio of black, gold and brown-colored Mk-IIs are assigned and used by the Cry Wolves squadron consisting of Albero Esto, Foglia Esto and Hugo Medio respectively, with Alberto and Hugo later on being given their own Mk-II Kais to replace their old machines. Unfortunately, Foglia was killed in action when his Gespenst stood in the Jetzt Regisseur's line of fire after trying to save Alberto's unit, while Hugo's unit was also heavily damaged in the ensuing onslaught by the Jetzt, knocking him unconscious. The Soulgain and Persön-Lichkeit then came to the rescue, allowing Alberto's unit to evacuate along with Hugo's unit.
This game marks the final appearance of the Mass-Production Gespenst Mk-II in a SRW game.

Armaments & Attacks[]
- Fighting (格闘 Kakutou)
The Mass-Production Gespenst Mk-II engages in hand-to-hand combat with the enemy. Only seen in OG1.
- Split Missile (スプリットミサイル)
Standard armament of the Gespenst Series. These are a pair of missile containers on the PT's back which are deployed at the enemy, followed by the missiles themselves launching from the container.
- Plasma Cutter (プラズマカッター)
Plasma sword for close combat. Seen in OG1 only as a Fixed Weapon.
- Neo Plasma Cutter (ネオ・プラズマカッター)
An upgraded version of the Gespenst's Plasma Cutters. In Alpha Gaiden, the Neo Plasma Cutters can also be used like the Plasma Stakes to initiate Jet Magnum. Equipped as a Swappable Weapon from OG2 onwards, which now has the Plasma Cutter and Plasma Stake as separate weapons, with the Cutter being deployed from behind like all other swappable melee weapons instead.
- Plasma Stake (プラズマ・ステーク)
Replacing the Gespenst and Gespenst Mk-II's Plasma Cutters on the left forearm are the 3 new Plasma Stakes. By covering themselves with plasma, this equipment is used to inject plasma directly into the target with a punch attack known as Jet Magnum. In Alpha Gaiden, the Plasma Stakes can also be used like the Neo Plasma Cutters to slash enemies. From OG2 onwards, the Plasma Cutter and Plasma Stake are now treated as separate weapons, with the Cutter being deployed from behind instead.
- Jet Magnum (ジェット・マグナム)
- A punching attack using the Plasma Stakes to inject plasma into the enemy at close range. It can be somewhat considered as the modern implementation of the Gespenst Type-S and Gespenst Mk-II Type-S' "Hissatsu!! Gespenst Punch" attack from the Classic Series.
- Jet Magnum S (ジェット・マグナムS)
- A special maneuver seen only on Kai Kitamura's MP Gespenst Mk-II in OG Gaiden. Charging its Plasma Stakes, the Mk-II dashes forwards and barrages the enemy with punches and kicks, before performing a Seoi-Nage judo throw on the target, smashing them onto the ground so hard that they bounce back into the air. The Mk-II then takes flight and finishes the job with a Jet Magnum strike mid-air. Also known as the Seoi-Nage Jet Magnum (背負い投げジェット・マグナム Back-Throw Jet Magnum), true to the attack. Its Motion Pattern code is JM4.
- M950 Machine Gun (M950マシンガン)
One of the MP Gespenst Mk-II's various handheld weapons, a standard machine gun. Its design is based on the real-life Calico M950 Submachine Gun.
- M13 Shotgun (M13ショットガン)
One of the MP Gespenst Mk-II's various handheld weapons, a shotgun which fires scattering rounds that can damage multiple enemies.
- Mega Beam Rifle (メガ・ビームライフル)
One of the MP Gespenst Mk-II's various handheld weapons, a beam rifle which boasts high firepower but unusable in aquatic environments or against Beam Coats.
- Slash Ripper (スラッシュリッパー)
Optional weapon. Several miniature triple-bladed rotor-like weapons are mounted on the MP Gespenst Mk-II's back, which are sent at the enemy to cut them apart. In Alpha Gaiden, the Rippers explode after cutting deep into the enemy, further raising the damage.
- Split Magnum (スプリットマグナム)
A sort of combination attack between Katina and Russel's MP Gespenst Mk-IIs, seen in OG Chronicle. Russel's Mk-II releases a Split Missile container before Katina's Mk-II punches it from behind with the Jet Magnum, increasing the container's speed and flying distance.
