The Huckebein 008L, transferred to the EFA Far East Branch after the Vanishing Trooper Incident, was upgraded into the Huckebein EX under the SRX Project. Aside from the properly readjusted Black Hole Engine, parts derived from the Huckebein Mk-II had also been incorporated into the machine during the renovation, giving it an appearance resembling the Mk-II (albeit with a new copper red paint job). Due to these new upgrades, the Huckebein EX can be considered as an intermediate, or hybrid of the Huckebein and Huckebein Mk-II.
SRW Alpha[]
The Huckebein EX only makes an appearance if the player chooses the Super Route of the game, where it and the Huckebein Mk-II were stolen by SRX Project test pilot Irmgard Kazahara due to his distrust of the Project's director Ingram Plissken, bringing with him the hero's brainwashed lover. The player team will engage in a few skirmishes with the EX throughout the game until Stage 65, where it will become an on-spot ally, and if conditions are met, joins the player's team along with Irm.
OG Series[]
The Huckebein EX was originally developed as a testbed machine for the Huckebein Mk-III's Core Trooper System, and was said to be an intermediate between the Mk-II and Mk-III. It did not see action during the events of OG Gaiden as the machine was in a disassembled state and time was not in the development team's favor. As the EX's construction took place when the development of the Huckebein Series' was halted by TFA officials out of fear for the EOT technology used, the Huckebein EX exterior differentiates from the rest of the Huckebeins in order to fool the eyes of the higher-ups, and its codename was later changed to PTX-EX Exbein.
Mounted in the head area are a pair of 60 mm Vulcan cannons.
Micro Missile (マイクロミサイル)
Numerous missiles are stored within the Huckebein's main booster pods,
Plasma Sword (プラズマソード)
Sabers of plasma for close-range combat.
Photon Rifle (フォトン・ライフル)
A handheld rifle that fires photon particles. In Alpha, it is said to be in the same development lineage as the R-2's Magna Beam Rifle.
Leap Slasher (リープ・スラッシャー)
This weapon is supposed to be inherited from the Huckebein, however since the EX reuses the Mk-II's Chakram Shooter animation for the attack in Alpha, it can be thought that the "new" Leap Slasher is mounted in the left forearm as a sawblade that is launched to attack the enemy remotely, incorporating technology seen in both the Chakram Shooter and the original Leap Slasher.
Black Hole Cannon Kai (ブラックホール・キャノン改 , Black Hole Cannon Custom)
Supposedly an upgraded version of the Black Hole Cannon, it resembles the Mk-II's G-Impact Cannon (due to reusing the G-Impact Cannon attack animation). Traps the enemy in a large gravitational field that slowly crushes the target until nothing is left.
