In all of its appearances, the 009 is the third Huckebein unit to be built, sporting a green color scheme and equipped with a Fusion Reactor (Alpha) / Plasma Generator (OG) instead of a Black Hole Engine, while still retaining the original's Afterimage ability. It was fielded primarily for data gathering.
Alpha Series[]
After the Vanishing Trooper Incident, the 009 and the 008L were reassigned to the EFA Far East Branch, with the 009 piloted by PTX Team member Irmgard Kazahara for data collection prior to the game.
OG Series[]
The 009's history in the OG Series is similar to its Alpha counterpart, sent to the TFA Far East Branch for test runs and piloted by Irmgard of the PTX Team, prior to the events of OG1
OG1/OGs1[]
Stored on the Hagane, the final checks on 009 will be finished after Stage 9, serving as Irmgard Kazahara's personal mecha until he receives the Grungust. Since Ryoto Hikawa can be seen assigned to the machine when it is incorporated into the Player Team after Stage 22 of Kyousuke Route, it can be assumed that the 009 was passed on to Ryouto for the remainder of the DC War. After the L5 Campaign, the 009 was pulled from the front lines and renovated into the Exbein.
Armaments & Attacks[]
Vulcan Cannon (バルカン砲 Vulcan-Hou)
Two rapidly firing machine guns mounted on the 009. They're not very effective on Personal Troopers and similar sized enemies, but they're good for destroying small fighters and ground targets.
Roche Saber (ロシュセイバー)
Energy swords equipped by the 009, originally developed for the Huckebein. The energy blade is generated through gravity waves.
Boosted Rifle (ブーステッド・ライフル)
Originally developed for the R-1, this is a sniper rifle-like weapon that fires solid rounds.
Leap Slasher (リープ・スラッシャー)
A weapon originally developed for the Huckebein. Six miniature arc pieces are released from the 009, which then combine into a circular beam-emitting ring mid-air and sent to attack the enemy.
Ironically, the 009 started out as the least advanced unit of the Huckebein Series, lacking any sort of special technology, but eventually became the strongest of them all after various upgrades in the form of the Exexbein, as well as outliving many of its siblings who were destroyed at the hands of the Galilnagant.
