The Barrelion was developed as an artillery-centric Armored Module, capable of providing long-range bombardments to support frontline units. Similar to the Lion, it was designed with a simple structure for ease of maintenance and cost reduction. Aside from flight, the Tesla Drive mounted on the Barrelion is also used to deploy a T-Dot Array covering the mecha's outer armor, increasing its defensive capabilities. Compared to the TFF's Schutzwald, which was built around the same concept but was rejected due to maintenance difficulty, the Barrelion is more suitable for mass-production. For example, while the Schutzwald's legs are for traversing terrain, the already flight-capable Barrelion's "legs" are solely for landing and securing its posture when firing on ground, reducing complications.
Since Armored Modules in general utilizes physical weaponry, they are capable of carrying more ammunition, while also maximising damage through supersonic propulsion of lightweight projectiles. Though the Barrelion's shooting trajectory suffer from interference when operating within atmosphere, the effects are reduced with the implementation of an invisble T-Dot Array barrel extending from the main barrel, thus increasing bullet velocity. As the Barrelion was created solely for long-range artillery support, it wasn't even equipped with any close-range interception weapons when it was first rolled out. A Twin Beam Cannon was later installed on the Barrelion's hips as a countermeasure, but the mecha's vulnerability in melee combat is still apparent, especially against the versatile Personal Troopers. Nevertheless, the Barrelion, along with its variants and sibling units, proved to be an indispensible combat force of the DC during the DC War, as well as in the hands of the Terra Federation during the L5 Campaign.
The Heavy Barrelion is the most advanced variant of the Barrelion, having double the firepower with its Twin Head Railgun, along with additional armor and maneuvering thrusters. Though it is obviously still equipped with the original model's Twin Beam Cannon, for some reason the mecha cannot use the weapon.
SRW OG1/SRW OGs1[]
The Heavy Barrelion was fielded by the DC during the later stages of the DC War as Tenzan Nakajima's personal machine. He used it for a while before switching to the Valsion Kai Unit 2.
SRW OGG[]
Though outdated, the Barrelions were still employed by DC remnants and by Duminas.
2nd SRW OG[]
Though outdated, the Barrelions were still employed by DC remnants, as well as by the Gaia Savers.
SRW OGDP[]
Though outdated, the Barrelions were still employed by DC remnants.
Armaments[]
Missile Launcher (ミサイルランチャー)
Missile launchers mounted on the forearms.
Twin Head Railgun (ツインヘッド・レールガン)
The Heavy Barrelion's primary weapon, a double-barrel version of the Big Head Railgun. When firing, a T-Dot Array field is deployed extending from the barrel to increase projectile velocity.
Big Head Railgun (ビッグヘッド・レールガン)
The Heavy Barrelion fires one of its railgun barrels individually. Longer range but less power compared to simulataneous firing.
Special Abilities[]
Cockpit Block (コクピットブロック)
Disables all pilot-related special effects. Seen on Tenzan's unit.
Weapon Block (ウェポンブロック)
Disables Weapon Breaker/Jam Grenade. Seen on Tenzan's unit.
