Not to be confused with the resembling Gespenst Mk-II Type-R
The Gespenst Mk-II Type-S (ゲシュペンストMk-II・タイプS) is a Banpresto Original Mecha debuting in Super Robot Wars F. It is a variant of the Gespenst Mk-II and part of the Gespenst Series, with its brother unit being the Gespenst Mk-II Type-R. It was developed based on data from the Gespenst Type-S. In Super Robot Wars OG: The Inspector, it was modified into the Gespenst Mk-II Type-SA.
Technological and Historical[]
One of the 2 main Gespenst Mk-II variations, the other unit being the Gespenst Type-R. It is the successor of the Gespenst Type-S. Overall, compared to the Type-R, the Type-S is more geared towards a Super Robot specification, equipped with short-range powerful weapons and stronger armor but lower mobility.
Classic Series[]
The Gespenst Mk-II Type-S was created by the protagonist's father for live tests related to the development of the Grungust.
SRW F[]
First appearance, only available under certain conditions in Super Route. In the stage "Combine!! Super Beast Machine God Dancouga", if the protagonist answered "I have a lover" after the battle, they were given the Gespenst Mk-II Type-S by Gilliam. If their answer was "I don't have a lover", the protagonist will have to wait until F Final in order to obtain the Type-S.
SRW F Final[]
The Mk-II Type-S was finally given to the Super Route hero after the first stage by Gilliam, replacing their old Gespenst Type-S. It was active as the hero's primary mecha for the first half of the game until the debut of the Grungust.
OG Series[]
The Gespenst Mk-II Type-S was developed based on the Gespenst Type-S as the next generation of the Gespenst Series, along with the Mk-II Type-R and Mk-II Type-T. It has enhanced melee combat capabilities, great firepower and defensive strength, along with an enhanced thruster output, allowing for a higher jump duration. It is also equipped with a layer of Beam Coat (OG1) / an AB Field (OG2=>) to defend against beam weapons.
SRW OG/SRW OGs1[]
Only available as a Secret Unit for Ryuusei Route. If the R-Gun was defeated during Ingram's betrayal, Viletta Vadim will show up with the Mk-II Type-S and regroup with the Steel Dragon Squadron inside Nevi'im during Phase 3 of Operation SRW, just before the showdown with Judecca.
SRW OG2/SRW OGs2[]
Available as a Secret Unit. If Kai Kitamura had reached level 33 and had 55 kills, he will order for the Mk-II Type-S to be delivered to the Steel Dragon Squadron in anticipation of the final showdown against the various enemy factions, with the machine being stored on the Hiryuu Kai as it travelled to the Moon Cradle.
SRW OGG[]
Following the eventual 4-way conflict of OG2/OGs2, the Gespenst Mk-II Type-S was stored away at the Tesla Reich Institute. It was picked up by the Steel Dragon Squadron along with other robots when the Squadron dropped by the Institute to prepare themselves for the oncoming conflict.
After OG Gaiden, the machine was never to be seen again, thought to be shelved away.
SRW OGIN[]
In the OGIN anime, the Type-S was modified into the Gespenst Mk-II Type-SA for Kyousuke Nanbu's use when covering Princess Shine Hausen's escape from the Duchy of Riksent in Episode 7, as the Alteisen was undergoing maintenance at the time.
